Dancing about architecture (comedy edition)

I’m ready to watch Seth Meyers do stand-up comedy. I’ve seen him do improv at UCB before, and he’s good! But never stand-up. He was great at the White House correspondent’s dinner (though he got help with the writing from every awesome comedy writer in NYC), and at the ESPYs (yep, same deal), so I’m excited to see if his stuff stands on its own.

Last night I watched that Conan documentary that just came out on DVD, which was basically comedy nerd porn. The film had tons of behind the scenes footage of Conan doing bits in the writer’s room, and I still watched the extras to see even more of it because I’m a sucker for that stuff. I could barely breathe I was laughing so hard while watching some of the stupid bits Conan would do behind closed doors — harder than I’ve laughed recently watching his show, even though I’m a huge fan. some British comedy shows have that quiz show format where smart, quick-witted comedians and actors basically do bits for an hour, but American TV has failed to reciprocate that. Wish they would. Go grab that doc, though. Good stuff.
