BUT WHAT IF THE CLOUD GOES DOWN?
I probably shouldn’t have been staring at her from across the coffeeshop for as long as I had, but I couldn’t help myself. Then she caught me looking, which is never good. Well, time to make a move, I thought.
I walked over to the couch where she was sitting.
“Hey, I’m Lee,” I said.
“Why don’t you take a picture? It’ll last longer,” she said, smiling.
“I did take pictures. Multiple pictures. From numerous angles to capture your full essence. And it certainly will last longer. I have the originals that I took on my phone. I then emailed them to myself and then immediately backed it up and stored it on my Amazon cloud drive. That way if I lose my phone and my computer, I will always have those photos of you. Always. 37 of them, in fact.”
“That’s really fucking creepy,” she replied.
“Shit, what if the cloud goes down?”
“What?”
“Hmm. I don’t know what’ll happen if the cloud goes down. Then I’m fucked, I guess. I’ve gotta make a phone call to Amazon.” I took out my phone and dialed Amazon customer service.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Can you be quiet, please? I’ve gotta figure this out,” I said.
