Because I rely on the recommendations of people who have similar tastes in books than me, I’m rarely disappointed by the stuff I read. This book is an exception. While the concept is awesome (it’s an instruction manual on how to keep this man’s son alive…who happens to be a ‘72 VW), this book is awash with metaphors that can be tough to follow. Like, the entire book is a metaphor, and inside the book, each sentence is another metaphor. It’s exhausting having to decode it.
I guess at some point I thought I would “get it” and the metaphors would all of a sudden all make sense, but that didn’t happen. The guy’s clearly got talent, but I’m not the guy to appreciate it. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
