Elliott Smith’s XO came out over 10 years ago. I listened to it more than any other album in college (next to Reinhold Messner) and I was listening to it again this morning. The album feels like a friend who stops by for a drink when they’re in town, but you don’t talk to them that much otherwise. That familiarity is comforting.
And to my delight, there’s a 33 1/3 book written about it that has good reviews. Can’t wait to read it.
