A friend introduced me to the author of this book back in college. Nice dude. He was unsure his comedy writing was any good. I told him to hang in there, and now he writes for Colbert and has won an Emmy or two. I was fairly confident in my abilities back then, and now I write jokes about my balls for the entire internet to read. I’ll let you guess which one of us ended up working harder at writing.
As for the book, there’s a story in here called “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Who Aren’t Fifty-Feet Tall,” and it’s amazing. My favorite one in the collection by far. The rest of it is comprised of other funny monster stories, which aren’t really my thing, but I can see how people could enjoy it.
