Nancy Drew is an ignorant slut
This is a 100% undoctored email, sent to me by a close friend who sells books to libraries. My friend got this from a middle-school librarian:
“Yes, I’ve received the books. Many are a big hit with the kids.
The only problem I had was that I was quite shocked with the skimpy clothing and huge bust line Nancy Drew and other female characters have in the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys graphic novels that I ordered. I have already had two parent volunteers complain while I was processing the books. I thought I was safe with Nancy Drew!
I just think the images send the wrong message (females as sex objects and in bondage in one book). I am not going to put them on the shelf, and I’m upset I spent the money on them.”
To be fair, the recent rash of teen pregnancies and STDs caused by Nancy Drew books are on the rise, and my friend should’ve warned her in advance.
