The one thing he knows
The homeless guy had been standing on my corner all day, and whenever I walked by, I noticed a ton of people had been giving him change. I walked in front of him to take a look at his sign.
LOVE CONQUERS ALL, it said.
“Do you believe that, sir?” I asked him.
“It’s the one thing I know,” he said. He smiled at me.
“You sure about that? Looks like it’s doing a pretty terrible job of conquering homelessness. Maybe it should conquer you a house and a job.”
“You have bitterness in your heart,” he replied. “I feel sorry for you.”
“Whatever man, I’m late for yoga,” I said, as I sped away in my gold-plated Prius.
